Ayushmann Khurrana's Anek has taken a poor start at the box office in India. According to early estimate the thriller as collected in the range of Rs. 1.85 to 2.15 crores on the opening day.
The first day collection of this Anubhav Sinha directorial is lower than the conservative predictions of Rs. 3 crores for the opening day. The first day business is around 50% of Ayushmann's last release, Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui.
The pandemic has taken a toll on the audience pull of all the actors appealing to the urban audience and Ayushmann seems to be the biggest victim of this. Both his releases have failed to take any sort of opening at the box office, and this is also a give away of these films riding on OTT friendly content.
Anek will end its run at the box office at collections under Rs. 15 crores
