Ajay Devgn's Runway 34 is flying high through the weekend as after a hazy take off, the movie is on an upward journey as as far as box office numbers are concerned. According to early estimates, Runway 34 has collected in the range of Rs. 7.00 to 7.50 crores, to take the three day opening weekend total a little upside of Rs. 15 crores.
The film took a very poor start with an opening of Rs. 3.15 crores, but is slowly making up for the lost ground with a Saturday of Rs. 5 cr. The numbers are still low considering the names involved in the project, but the upward trend through the weekend has given some hope of sustenance on the weekdays. Infact, Runway 34 can also reap benefit of Eid Holiday on Tuesday and Basi Eid on Wednesday.
A hold in collections on Monday will give us an idea on where the film is headed in its lifetime run. The movie appeals to a very urban audience, targetting the four big cities, and since the talk in target audience is pretty decent, Ajay's face value might just result in a healthy trend for a couple of weeks, though a lot depends on the hold in collections on Monday followed by Tuesday.
These are no doubt low collections, but that has been the case with all multiplex films in the pandemic. There was a chance of flat Sunday too, but this jump has given the hope of recording a Monday equal to Friday.
