Cirkus Advance Booking Report: Scores low numbers in advances; stays below Bhediya & Raksha Bandhan

The much-awaited Rohit Shetty comedy, Cirkus, was released in cinema halls today with low numbers in advance booking. By Thursday midnight, the film could sell merely 31,000 tickets in the three national chains, PVR, Inox & Cinepolis, which is much lower than what was expected. In fact, the advances are in the same range as Bhediya & Raksha Bandhan, which had sold 31,000 and 34,000 tickets respectively in the three chains.

Cirkus Advance Booking Report Scores low numbers in advances; stays below Bhediya & Raksha Bandhan

On the all-India front, Cirkus sold around 75,000 tickets, which is again much below what was expected. In an ideal scenario, the three chains should have sold around 75,000 tickets, with all India bookings falling in the 1.75 lakh zone. The opening day fate of Cirkus will heavily depend on spot bookings. At the moment a double-digit start seems like a tough task.

Cirkus will also need to score a good talk among the audiences, to make up for the loss of revenue on the opening front. It's festive period and hence, the Rohit Shetty target audience is expected to step out in the long run if the content supports the film. But yes, the start is slow and so are the advances. All the eyes are now on how well the film jumps in the evening & night shows.
