'Varisu' scores 100 crores in Tamil Nadu

Thalapathy Vijay's 'Varisu' began its box office rampage on Jan 11 and the film has been released as a Pongal treat for fans. The extended first week and multiple holidays helped the film add quick numbers at the box office. Vijay's family drama has hit Rs 100 crores in Tamil Nadu. If reports are to be believed, at the end of day 8, the 'Varisu' box office collection stands around Rs 228 crores worldwide, and the film has broken into the Rs.100 crore mark in Tamil Nadu. 'Varisu' has become Vijay's 6th film to achieve the mark in the home state, and the actor once again proves his box office power.
