Salman Khan’s fans were able to see a film of his release on Eid in the form of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan after a hiatus on April 21. Directed by Farhad Samji, the movie also stars Pooja Hegde, Venkatesh Daggubati, Bhumika Chawla, Raghav Juyal, Jassie Gill, Siddharth Nigam, Shehnaaz Gill, Palak Tiwari, Vinali Bhatnagar, Vijender Singh, and Satish Kaushik. After being in theatres for more than a week, the movie entered the coveted Rs. 100 crore club yesterday.
Interestingly, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is the 16th Salman movie to cross Rs. 100 crores at the India box office. This proves his phenomenal record at the box office for more than a decade. The other 15 films of his to enter the Rs. 100 Crore Club include, Dabangg, Ready, Bodyguard, Ek Tha Tiger, Dabangg 2, Jai Ho, Kick, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Sultan, Tubelight, Tiger Zinda Hai, Race 3, Bharat and Dabangg 3.
Salman’s career got a new lease of life with Abhinav Kashyap’s Dabangg. The film became a runaway success, and he debuted in the Rs. 100 crore club. His character of the cop Chulbul Pandey was loved and it continues to be iconic. From here onwards, there was no looking behind for the star as he continued to give one successful film after another and that too across genres.
Salman will next be seen in Tiger 3 this year during Diwali. Needless to say, there are high hopes of the film becoming another success story for the superstar.
