On Friday, Disney+ Hotstar released the trailer of their latest original series titled Aakhri Sach. Starring Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead role as a cop, the series is based on the Burari deaths, a spine-chilling case that shocked the country.
The trailer shows a family of 11 members dying by suicide. Tamannaah steps into the crime scene and notes that they have all hung themselves together. However, she finds inconsistencies in the evidence and thereby doubts the death to be a homicide. The other investigating officers also suspect mass suicide as a sacrifice to a cult. The investigation into the case forms the rest of the series.
Aakhri Sach also stars Abhishek Banerjee, Shivin Narang, Danish Iqbal, Nishu Dikshit, Kriti Vij and Sanjeev Chopra, among others. Director Robbie Grewal, known for films like Romeo Akbar Walter and MP3: Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar has helmed the upcoming web series.
Aakhri Sach is all set to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on August 25.
