Karan Johar’s latest release Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, has minted Rs 91.58 crore in the first nine days since its release. The film, starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead, made Rs 45.90 crore in its first weekend. In seven days, the film bagged Rs Rs 73.33 crore, with Rs 6.75 crore on Day 8 and Rs 11.50 crore on Day 9, taking the total to Rs 91.58 crore.
Apart from Ranveer and Alia, the film also stars veterans Shabana Azmi, Dharmendra and Jaya Bachchan. Its supporting cast includes Tota Roy Choudhury, Anjali Anand, Churni Ganguly and Kshitee Jog, among others.
Sharing the film’s collection on Instagram, Karan’s Dharma Productions’ official handle posted, “Iss prem kahaani ki ‘back seat driving’ aapne ki & you got us here! (You drove this love story from the backseat and got us here)”
Rocky Aur Rani follows the love story of the titular couple who belong to contrasting backgrounds and cultures.
