Sunny Deol’s bungalow to not be auctioned owing to ‘technical reasons’; Congress raises questions

Recently, actor and BJP MP Sunny Deol, whose Gadar 2 is inching towards the Rs 400 crore mark at the box office, had his name as a defaulter on a loan amount and resultantly his mortgaged property, Sunny Villa, in Mumbai’s Juhu’s, was put up for e-auction.

As per reports, Deol had been in default on a Rs 55.99 crore loan with interest and penalty from Bank of Baroda, since December 2022. Recently, the bank published an advertisement in a newspaper, informing about the e-auction of his bungalow in Mumbai for Rs 51.43 crore.

The e-auction notice has now been withdrawn owing to “technical reasons,” as per reports. Responding to the development, the Opposition Congress raised questions with its general secretary writing on X (formerly twitter): “Yesterday afternoon the nation got to know that Bank of Baroda had put up the Juhu residence of BJP MP Sunny Deol for e-auction since he has not paid up Rs 56 crore owed to the Bank. This morning, in less than 24 hours, the nation has got to know that the Bank of Baroda has withdrawn the auction notice due to 'technical reasons'." "Wonder who triggered these 'technical reasons'?" he said.

The actor or his team have not responded on the issue.
