The makers of The Great Indian Family released the film's trailer on Tuesday. The film marks Vicky Kaushal's return to the family entertainer genre, after the commercial success of the comedy Zara Hatke Zara Bachke.
The trailer starts by introducing Vicky as Ved Vyas Tripathi alias Bhajan Kumar. He is from a priest family from Balrampur and is famous for singing devotional bhajans. However, he has one small issue; most of the girls in town rever him as he is also a priest. While we think that it is the central conflict, an anonymous letter reveals that Bhajan Kumar is actually a Muslim boy.
Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya (Dhoom 3, Thugs of Hindostan), the film is backed by Yash Raj Films. The film also stars Manushi Chillar as the female lead, and Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra and social media influencer Srishti Dixit among others.
The Great Indian Family is slated to release on September 22.
