Akshay Kumar will soon be seen in an aerial action film. Titled Sky Force, the film was announced on Monday, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and former prime minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. The film is touted to be based on an untold story of India’s first and deadliest airstrike.
The 56-second announcement video starts with a warning from Muhammad Ayub Khan who was the President of Pakistan in 1965. “Indian leaders don’t yet know which group of people they have challenged.” Then we see an original clip of Lal Bahadur Shastri, wherein he can be seen saying: “talwar ki nok par, ya atom bomb ke darr se, koi hamare desh ko jhukana chahe, dabana chahe, ye desh hamara dabne wala nahi hai (If somebody wants to threaten us with a sword or an atom bomb…our country won’t be subdued)”
“Toh ek sarkaar ke naate humara kya jawab ho sakta hain, sivaye iske ki hum hatyaaro ka jawab, hatyaaro se de. Jai Hind (As a country’s government what should we do if not reply to the killers in their language. Jai Hind),” he concludes.
The film is slated to release on October 2 next year.
Sharing the teaser on his social media, Akshay wrote, “Aaj Gandhi-Shastri jayanti ke din, Sara desh keh raha hai- Jai Jawan, Jai Kisaan, Jai Vigyaan, Jai Anusandhaan. No better day than today to announce the incredible story of #SkyForce: Our untold story of India's first and deadliest airstrike. Give it love, please. Jai Hind, Jai Bharat. Presented by Jio Studios and Dinesh Vijan, Sky Force takes flight in cinemas on October 2, 2024.”
Meanwhile, Akshay was last seen in the comedy-drama OMG 2, which also stars Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam. He is coming with Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue this week.
