RIP Matthew Perry: Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Ranveer Singh, Kiara Advani remember the Friends star

Actor Matthew Perry, popular for playing Chandler Bing on Friends, passed away on Saturday. As per reports, he drowned in a jacuzzi at his LA house. He was 54.

After the news of his passing broke out, Bollywood celebrities including Ranveer Singh, Sidharth Malhotra, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Kiara Advani, took to social media to remember the actor.

Actor Nimrat Kaur took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a picture of Matthew and wrote, “Rest in glory #MatthewPerry. Chandler Bing for life,” along with a broken heart emoji.

Ranveer Singh also shared a photo of the actor on his Instagram stories with a white bird and folded hands emoji. Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani also shared his picture on their respective Instagram Stories with broken heart emojis. Bipasha Basu shared a picture of Matthew on her Instagram Stories and wrote, “RIP Matthew Perry” with a broken heart emoji.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu also shared a picture of the later actor and wrote, “Heartbroken. RIP Matthew Perry." Actor Soni Razdan called it “Sad sad news” on her Instagram Stories.

DirectorVIvek Agnihotri also took to X and wrote, "Happiness is sad today. 54 is no age for FRIENDS to go RIP #MatthewPerry."

Matthew started his film career with A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon in 1988. He went on to star in many films like She's Out of Control and Getting In and in television shows like, Boys Will be Boys and Sydney, among others, until he landed his role as Chandler Bing in Friends

Despite his success with Friends, from 1994-2004, the actor suffered from addiction to alcohol and vicodin and was taking treatment for the same from 1997 to 2001. He also revealed that he had a substance abuse problem after Vicodin was prescribed to him after a Jet Ski accident in 1997. In fact, the actor has also credited his Friends co-stars for being patient with him in his battle against addiction.
