Ranbir Kapoor’s film Animal, which hit the screens on Friday, has released Rs 116 crore on day one of its release, the makers of the film revealed. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film is backed by T-Series.
The family crime drama was given A certificate by the CBFC ahead of its release." The biggest non-holiday opening in Hindi cinema ever worldwide gross Rs 116 crore," T-Series wrote in a post. Animal also features Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna and Triptii Dimri.
Animal is about a skewed and dysfunctional family setup, showing a troubled relationship between a father and son. The film, which follows Vanga’s Arjun Reddy style of misogynistic commentary and toxic masculinity, released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam to mixed reviews.
