Shah Rukh Khan and Sunny Deol, who didn’t interact much with each other after a feud since the release of their 1993 film Darr, recently hugged it out at Gadar 2’s success party in Mumbai. The two actors could be seen embracing each other for the paparazzi at the party.
Gadar 2 is expected to cross the Rs 500-crore mark today. At a success bash hosted by the makers on Saturday, many Hindi film stars including Aamir Khan, Kartik Aaryan, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh with his wife Gauri Khan, attended the event.
In the video, posted by a paparazzo account, Sunny and Shah Rukh can be seen posing for the media together and hugging each other.
At an Aap Ki Adalat episode, Sunny had spoken about why he didn’t speak to SRK after they co-starred in Yash Chopra’s 1993 film Darr. Sunny had said that he was not pleased with how his character was portrayed in the film’s climax. “I had a heated discussion with Yash Chopra regarding that scene. I tried to explain that I am a commando officer in the film. My character is an expert and physically fit, so how can this boy easily defeat me? He can only defeat me if I can’t see him. If he can stab me while I’m looking at him, then I won’t be considered a commando,” he said during the interview.
Sunny also recalled that he tore his pants with his own hands in frustration during the discussion, “Out of anger, I didn’t even realise that I had torn my pants with my hands.” Following the film’s release, SRK and Sunny did not communicate for years, although Sunny clarified that it wasn’t intentional, stating, “It’s not that I didn’t talk but I just cut myself off and I anyway don’t socialise much. So we never met, toh baat karne ki baat he nahi hai (there is no point in talking about not talking with him).”
Recently, during an ask me anything session on X (formerly Twitter), Shah Rukh had said that he has watched Gadar 2 and had loved it. Also in a recent interview with Times Now, Sunny had revealed that SRK called to congratulate him for Gadar 2's success. "He had seen this film and before that, he called me up and wished me and he was so happy, he told me I am so happy, you genuinely deserve it and I said thank you." Sunny also said that he also spoke to Shah Rukh’s wife Gauri and added, "I spoke to his wife and son and he said that tonight we're going to watch the film. And I said great. And I think after that he has seen it and tweeted about it."
